Billig Tanken is a free mobile application for Android that helps you find the cheapest fuel and charging stations near you. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The app does not use analytics, does not display advertising, and does not require you to create an account.

3. What Data We Collect and Process
3.1 Location data
When you use the app, we access your device's location to show you fuel stations and charging stations near you. Your location is processed only on your device and is never stored on our servers, because we do not operate any servers.
To display nearby stations, we send the coordinates (latitude and longitude) of your location to the following third-party APIs:
- Tankerkönig API (creativecommons.tankerkoenig.de) — for real-time fuel prices in Germany
- OpenChargeMap API (api.openchargemap.io) — for electric charging stations
- Overpass API (overpass-api.de) — for fuel stations from OpenStreetMap
- Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) — for address search
These requests are necessary for the core functionality of the app. We do not control these services and recommend that you review their privacy policies.
3.2 IP address
On first launch, the app makes a request to ipapi.co to detect your country
and automatically select the appropriate interface language. Your IP address is transmitted
to this service as part of the HTTP request. No data from this request is stored on our side.
3.3 Favorites
Stations you mark as favorites are stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure preferences. We do not have access to this data. You can delete it at any time from the app's settings, or by uninstalling the app.
3.4 Backup files
The app offers a feature to export and import your favorites and settings as a JSON file. This file is created and stored on your device. It is only shared externally if you explicitly choose to share it (for example via email or cloud storage). We never receive a copy of this file.
3.5 Crash reports
If the app encounters an error, it stores a technical crash report locally on your device. These reports are never sent automatically. You can review, send (via email), or delete them at any time from the app's settings. The reports contain technical information about the error (stack trace, timestamp, error message) but no personal data.
3.6 In-app purchases
The app offers optional in-app purchases to support the developer. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store any of your payment information. We only receive an anonymous confirmation from Google Play that a purchase was completed.

- OpenChargeMap — for charging stations
- OpenStreetMap Foundation — for fuel station data

5. Data Retention
We do not store any of your personal data on our servers, because we do not operate any servers. All data the app uses (favorites, settings, crash reports, cached station data) is stored only on your device.
Cached station data is automatically deleted after 6 hours. Crash reports are deleted when you delete them manually or uninstall the app.
6. Your Rights under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access — you can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you can request deletion of your data.

We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored on your device. All communication with third-party APIs is encrypted using HTTPS. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The app is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.
